The Women's club and our members organises a wide variety of activities. Here, you can find a general presentation. As a member you can access our monthly calendar and our language- and interestgrouppages when you login to the website.
Activities offered to members generally fall into six categories:
Cultural Enrichment – It is our goal to bring cultural awareness and understanding to our members, each month in cooperation with local foreign embassies we honor different countries in learning of their national customs and traditions.
Activity wise we visit museums, theatres, art exhibits and other cultural institutions, as well as places of interest in and around Bratislava with friends in the club.
Charity - One of the many purposes of the International Women’s Club of Bratislava is to give back to our host country financially by assisting non-profit organizations in Slovakia through fundraising activities.
Since 1990 the IWCB has organized the annual Christmas bazaar which has become Bratislava’s biggest international fund-raising event. Raising funds in this event is made possible with the help of IWCB members, foreign embassies and charitable organizations selling food and products from all over the world in a festive international atmosphere. All proceeds go to charitable projects in Slovakia. The IWCB Charity committee assesses the applications and specific needs of the charitable organizations.
Coffees, Lunches, Dinners, Wine tastings, etc - here you will find all activities which allow you to get to know other members in a social setting! Weekly Coffees, Mom and Me Coffees, Monthly Lunches, holiday dinners, wine tastings and so much more.
Personal Enrichment - foreign language conversation groups, book discussions, gourmet cooking, arts and crafts ... we hope you will pick up something new through your membership with us.
Fitness and Leisure - fun is the motto here. Biking, Golf, Tennis, hiking tours, there are so many things to do in Bratislava.
Mom & Me - if you have small children age 0-6, our Mom and Me Club offers many activities so that Mom’s and little ones can have fun while making new friends. Get support and exchange valuable information on having and raising your children in a foreign environment.

Contact Alenka Gorjup, membership coordinator membership@iwc.sk and she will register you a free guest pass. Registration is free and allows you to attend up to two activities of your choice to help you decide whether you'd like to officially join us.
The Club meets at the Crowne Plaza Hotel weekly from 10:30am to 12:00pm for coffee and inspiration. We look forward to meeting you.
Weekly coffee morning
Every Tuesday, 10:00-12:00 at Fresh! Restaurant, Crowne Plaza. Come and join us for coffee and a chat. Refer to the meeting room board in the reception area for the location of IWCB Coffee Morning. If you are new in town just drop in and say so. Children are also welcome.
Special events
Every month there are special events arranged by club members. These can include:
- Bratislava tours
- Shopping trips
- Cultural trips
- Cooking demonstrations
- Presentations
- Etc.
Lunch of the month
Every last Tuesday of the month @ about 12:00. We try out a new restaurant. Don't be shy, newcomers are especially welcome! We will walk to the restaurant after the coffee morning!

General Meetings (Member meetings) are held in the autumn and spring, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Please see the newsletter for precise dates.
Charity activities
The International Women's Club organizes a yearly Christmas Bazaar for charity. The income of the Bazaar is distributed by the charity committee of the club during the year. Besides this big event the club collects food, shoes, clothes or other used items if needed by the shelters.
Language groups
The International Women's Club offer language groups. At the moment we have Slovak, German, English and Italian. Language groups meet weekly or monthly in our meetingroom at Crowne Plaza.
Interestgroups
Members of the International Women's Club can organise interestgroups to enjoy and share their favourite activities with women from all over the world. Interestgroups are run by the members themselves and can include various sport activities depending on season and interest or creative and mind stimulating activities, such as:
- Mah-jong
- Bookgroup
- Photography group
- Craft group
- Hiking and biking
- Tennis
- Golf
- Meditation and yoga
- Ice skating
- Mom and me (playgroup for mothers and their children 0-6)
