2009 Donations

For 2009 the International Women´s Club donated a total of € 69,015.00

The charity committee received 35 applications and the following 28 organizations/projects received help:

1. Svetová rada remesiel Slovensko. World Crafts Council - BA (Printing of book written by a disabled person, to be used in the Institute for Child Psychology)
2. Dom Nádeje – St. Vincent de Paul. House of Hope community center in Ružinov BA (Boys’ room floors, utilities room and glass door)
3. Independent Living Center - BA (Information booklet about disability rights, massage chair in special gym for the disabled)
4. Perspektíva - Center for Families in Crisis– BA. (Counseling room material, laundry room, rehabilitation/training tearoom)
5. Kramare Hosp. Child Psychiatry Dept. (Laptop computer)
6. Domov sociálnych služieb a domov dôchodcov sv. Dominika - Petrovany. St.Dominic’s retirement home (Furniture for the common room)
7. Org. Muskulárnych Dystrofikov v SR-The Muscular Dystrophy Organization (Special car jack to move a disabled person from a wheelchair to a car)
8. Orphanage Polárka – Vel’ký Meder, eastern Slovakia. (2-week summer camp in the mountains for 30 children)
9. ECHO – Združenie na pomoc l’ud’om s mentálnym postihnutím - BA. Assn. to help the Mentally Disabled (One week rehabilitation in Turčianske Teplice spa for 50 members. Treatment only)
10. Dom Svitania – Jakubov. Social services and rehabilitation for the mentally disabled (Lawn mower, swivel chairs for the sewing room, flyers)
11. Detsky domov in Dedina Mládeže. Orphanage in Nitra (Lawn mower for their 2000 sq. m. garden and vegetable patch)
12. Diagnostické Centrum pre deti – BA Children’s Diagnostic Center Psychological, psychotherapeutic, educational center for children and their parents. (Indoor and outdoor sports equipment)
13. Elementary school M.R.Stefanika – BA. (Fresh sand and sandpit cover for the playground)
14. Stredisko Evanjelickej DIAKONIE – Deaneries Evangelical Center (Tearoom for rehabilitation/ work training for severely disabled young people)
15. Slovak Hemophilia Society – BA (summer camp for 10 disadvantaged children, and information booklet)
16. Rodinné centrum Prešporkovo – BA. Family center for mothers on maternity leave and preschoolers. (Toys, playhouse and tricycles)
17. RESOTY ubytovňa pre bezdomovcov –BA. Shelter and boarding house for the homeless (3 small refrigerators)
18. Jazmin nezisková organizácia –Handlová. Social services (Large-capacity washing machine)
19. ACEC – YRAEF Musical education for Roma youth (Recording  of CD with Roma songs)
20. Dom Charitas sv. Josefa – Spišska Nova Ves  - Day care for the disabled, shelter for single mothers (Washing machine and dryer)
21. Smiling Hospital Fund – BA (Clown therapy for hospitalized children, Material for artists)
22. Detsky domov sv. Klementa Hofbauera in Podolínec - eastern Slovakia (Lighting for the courtyard/play area)
23. Nadej Detom (Hope for children) in Banská Bystrica (After-school programs for Roma youth, Electric oven for ceramic handicrafts)
24. Združenie mad’arských rodičov na Slovensku - Slovak-Hungarian Parent’s association – Bratislava (Playground unit)
25. Klub Štvorlistok (Quarterfoil Club) Nursery school in Trenčin (Timber for outdoor shed/classroom)
26. Pre lepší život (For a better life) in Rankovce, Košice. (Services and after-school programs for Roma youth)
27. ADS – Charitas in Kežmarok. Mobile hospice  (Anti-bed sore mattresses, WC seats, suction fan, printer, bicycles, infusion mount, mattresses for cots)
28. Evanjelická špeciálna škola internátna pre hluchoslepých - Červenica. Special Boarding school for the deaf-mute (Blackboard, indoor jungle gym, wooden toys, massage mats)
