2% Tax Donation
how does it work?
Slovak Income Tax Law enables tax paying individuals and companies in Slovakia to allocate up to 2% of their income tax directly to NGOs of their choice. Individuals can allocate one NGO, companies can choose several. The IWCB is officially registered as an authorised recipient of funds from tax collection so it is easy to nominate IWCB as the beneficiary of 2% of your income tax. Even better, if you were very active with us last year and volunteered for at least 40 hours for the IWCB, you can donate not 2% but 3%!
You will need to ask the IWCB for a document to confirm that you worked as a volunteer; for example on the charity committee, the charity bazaar committee, as a board member or an interest group leaders. All would all qualify as volunteering for over 40 hours.
Donations are anonymous. Individual donation information is kept private between you and the tax office.
who benefits?
In the past 10 years alone the IWCB has helped over 316 organisations across the country. Our aim is to support humanitarian causes and help advocate for the less privileged groups in Slovak society. We work with organisations ranging from homeless shelters and orphanages to medical facilities and palliative care centres.

Self employed or company
Nominate IWCB on your tax return form. No additional forms are required. Self-employed and companies must file their tax return by March 31 with their tax authority (unless another deadline has been agreed with the tax authority).
employees
Employees whose taxes have been deducted by their employer must ask their employer for a certificate confirming that their tax has been correctly deducted. Then, the employee has to fill in an instruction form nominating the IWCB as the beneficiary of 2% of their income tax donation, and submit it together with the certificate.
